The Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne (EMSE) is developing an International Digital Health Summer School Program in collaboration with Texas State University (TXST). This program is funded by the Region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (AURA) and by Saint-Etienne Métropole (SEM) as part of AURA’s strategy for international development.
As the healthcare industry undergoes rapid digital transformation, there is an urgent need to equip the next generation of healthcare professionals with advanced competencies in digital health technologies. The Digital Health Summer School Program is designed to address this need by providing students with hands-on experience in healthcare data analytics, decision-making tools, and project management strategies. Over two weeks, students, faculty, and industry professionals from diverse disciplines will collaborate on real-world healthcare challenges, fostering interdisciplinary learning and practical skill development. Our goal is to create an innovative, immersive learning environment that allows students to expand their expertise in digital health, engage with global healthcare systems, and develop solutions to industry challenges.
As part of our curriculum development, we will organize a Kick-off Seminar that will take place in Saint-Etienne from June 2-6, 2025. The Seminar will bring together faculty from TXST, EMSE and other European universities, as well as industry professionals in the digital healthcare domain. The goal of the Seminar is to discuss the content and format of the Summer Program so as to ensure that it aligns with industry needs and addresses important open questions in digital healthcare.
